Amanda C. Best is an Associate in Lex Caribbean’s Barbados-based Commercial Litigation, Restructuring and Insolvency Department.

Amanda advises a diverse local and international clientele on an extensive range of non-contentious and contentious legal matters. Her practice areas include civil and commercial litigation, legal advisory and employment law.

She earned her Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, in 2019. In 2021, Amanda was admitted to practise law in Barbados after completing her professional legal training at the Hugh Wooding Law School, where she was Joint Valedictorian and was awarded a Legal Education Certificate of Merit.

During her time at the Hugh Wooding Law School, Amanda received several academic awards including the Council of Legal Education Prize for Most Outstanding Year 1 Student, the Book Specialists Prize for First Outstanding Year 1 Student, the Peterson, Lambert-Peterson & Co. and the Justice Anthony Lucky & Justice Gillian Lucky Prizes for Best Performance in Evidence and Forensic Medicine. Additionally, Amanda served as Constitutional Chairperson of the Student Representative Council and was an active member of the Human Rights Committee.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Amanda enjoys travelling, reading, spending quality time with family and participating in community outreach initiatives.
