Dr. Anke Meier, LL.M. heads Noerr’s Dispute Resolution department together with Dr. Henner Schläfke. In addition, she leads Noerr’s Arbitration practice group. She is renowned in Germany in the sphere of international arbitration (acting both as counsel and as arbitrator), as well as for her in-depth experience regarding German–U.S. disputes. In addition to being admitted to the Frankfurt Bar of Lawyers, she is also admitted to the New York State Bar. Anke is recognised as one of the leading specialists in international arbitration in Germany, focusing on both investment arbitration and commercial arbitration. She co-heads the IBA Arbitration Committee’s sub-committee on ESG Arbitration. She is regularly approached by the DIS to assist in developing the field of arbitration in Germany and has played a significant role in advising the German Ministry of Justice in reforming its existing statutory framework in this area. Anke regularly acts as both arbitrator and counsel in commercial arbitration and is also well-versed in issues specific to investment arbitration. She is regularly recognised in various legal handbooks and rankings: “One of the few Germans who are taken seriously in international arbitration law”, competitor, JUVE Handbook; ranked “Global Leader” by Lexology (former Who’s Who Legal), 2024. The Legal 500 ranks her as “Leading Name for Arbitration” in Germany.
