Jacqueline Downes is a partner and the head of Allens’ Competition, Consumer and Regulatory group. Jacqueline advises clients on a range of competition and consumer law matters, including mergers, access, cartels, misuse of market power, exclusive dealing, joint ventures and consumer law. She has extensive experience advising clients in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sector. Jacqueline is well known for achieving Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) clearance of high-profile and complex domestic and international mergers and clients rely on her extensive experience in dealing with the ACCC. She has been actively involved in the consultation regarding Australia’s new merger reform regime. Jacqueline is ranked as a leading competition and antitrust expert in Chambers (Band 1), Best Lawyers, The Asia-Pacific Legal 500 and Global Competition Review.
