Peter Haas is a founding partner of Eversheds Sutherland in Switzerland and he served as Managing Partner from September 2013 to December 2023. He also acted as Chairman of the Board of Directors from June 2023 to June 2025. His practice areas are national and international commercial litigation in the fields of liability and tort law, as well as employment, contract and consumer law. Peter has particular expertise in insurance and liability matters. He heads the dispute resolution and insurance team at Eversheds Sutherland Switzerland. His prior experience includes several years as in-house counsel in the claims department of one of the largest Swiss insurance companies. He also worked as an associate attorney in a business law firm. Peter studied law at the University of Berne and was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1994. He holds an LLM in European law, private international law, and arbitration from the University of Essex (UK). Peter is a member of the Bar Association of the Canton of Berne and the Swiss Bar Association. Furthermore, he is a member of three IBA committees: the insurance committee, the negligence and damages committee, and the litigation committee. He is also a member of the Swiss Society of Civil Liability and Insurance Law and its AIDA Swiss Chapter committee, as well as the BritishSwiss Chamber of Commerce (BSCC).
