Scottish Private Client business

Adleshaw Goddard’s ten-strong Scottish Private Client team was poised to move, en masse, to Morton Fraser.  This plan was thwarted today when two of those ten-strong private client solicitors –Euan Fleming and Joe Davies – broke ranks and instead decided to join Gilson Gray. For Addleshaw Goddard the extent of the loss of its ten-strong Scottish Private Client team remains unchanged.

Law firm cultures

Gilson Gray markets itself as having a culture that takes a fresh approach to traditional law firm offering. The firm maintains that its culture is more akin to a cross between private equity and law.  It was envisaged that Euan Fleming would become a new partner at Morton Fraser. He is now poised to head up the private client department at Gilson Gray.

Progressive thinking

Addleshaw Goddard  is not presently contemplating exiting the private client business. It still has market-leading private capital teams, based in Leeds and Manchester.  A vigorous new strategy for Private Client operations is likely to be unveiled by Addleshaw Goddard in the near future.
