Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
The partnership of O’Neal Webster unanimously approved the appointment of Vanessa King as managing partner. The corporate and commercial attorney at the British Virgin Islands firm takes over from Kerry Anderson, who has held the post since 2009, and who will now focus on the firm’s overseas expansion.
STEP service
King was the recipient of the worldwide Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ ninth annual Founder’s Award and has a long-standing record of service in professional, charitable, and community organizations. She is STEP BVI chairperson, deputy chair of the STEP Caribbean and Latin America region, and is member of the steering committee of the STEP Caribbean Conference. She has recently done a great deal of work for clients affected by the disruption caused by the hurricanes that struck the region.
Building on legacy
Welcoming her appointment, Anderson said she is a “great legal talent” and brings proven leadership skills, which will set the firm on a new trajectory and take it closer to its goals. While paying tribute to her immediate predecessor, King said was looking forward to “building onto the great legacy” of the firm’s founders, Paul Webster and Colin O’Neal. ‘It is a high honor to serve their legacy, our clients, and our firm,’ she said.
