Boies Schiller boutique leads on bonus payments

Litigation boutique Boies Schiller & Flexner has once again outshone the large US firms with its bonus offerings, reaching up to $350,000 for associates of a year's standing or more in Calfornia, New York and Washington, DC.

The Boies associates will be paid between $20,000 and $350,000, while the top law firms are mainly working between $10,000 and $100,000. The average at Boies is $95,000.

More complicated

The high bonus levels reflect an approach through which associates are rewarded for their input to cases that result in large contingency fees. David Boies said: 'It’s still very much our view that this is the right thing to do and, in the long run, very important to our culture and to the quality of our practice. It just becomes more complicated economically as we get bigger.' Source: ABA
