The American Bar Association is giving the green light to lawyers to look into the Facebook and other social media sites of both potential and deliberating jurors.

But a line is drawn at befriending or following jurors. So far judges have taken different views on the extent to which they allow research on the social media declarations of jurors. But now the ABA ethics committee has clarified its stance.
