Addleshaw Goddard has promoted 17 lawyers to partner in its latest round, marking a slight increase on last year.
The cohort is up from 15 promotions in 2025, when the firm saw a dip from a record 26 the previous year, and spans the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Just three of the 17 promotions are women, compared with seven out of 15 last year.
Twelve of the new partners are based in the UK, across Aberdeen, Leeds, London and Manchester, with a further five internationally: one apiece in Dubai, Dublin and Madrid, and two in Warsaw.
According to the firm, it has hired 48 partners over the past 12 months, including 18 in London and 18 in non-UK offices. The firm said its overall headcount has grown by more than 10% to over 3,200, including 482 partners.
The firm is working to a strategy set by the then-newly elected managing partner, Andrew Johnston, in November 2023 to double in size by 2030, prioritising greater international reach with aggressive growth in the UK.
Commenting on the promotions, Johnston said: “This talented group of new partners broadens and deepens the expertise we are able to offer to our clients where they need us most. Our AG2030 strategy is delivering significant momentum across the firm.”
The new partners span a range of practice areas, including corporate, real estate, finance and disputes.
In corporate and commercial, the firm promoted Edward Ainscoe in Leeds, Gonzalo Fernández in Madrid, James Whittam in Dubai and Stephen Fishbourne in London. Real estate promotions include Tom Lister in Manchester, Laura McAuley in Leeds, Philip Milsom in London and Tomasz Trystula in Warsaw.
Within finance and projects, the new partners are restructuring specialist Aziz Abdul in London, infrastructure and projects specialist Jakub Dabrowski in Warsaw, and Philippa McCarthy, Geoffrey McGinley and James Washington, who all sit within the Leeds finance team. The disputes group saw promotions for Kate Field in Dublin and David Palmer in London, both of whom advise on employment matters, and Jake Minards-Tonge in Manchester and Ryan Openshaw in Aberdeen.
For the year to 30 April 2025, Addleshaws reported revenue of £550.9m, up 11%, and profit of £224.1m, up 6%, marking its eighth consecutive year of growth.
The firm entered Central and Eastern Europe in February 2025 through the addition of Linklaters’ Warsaw office and opened an office in Abu Dhabi in June 2025.
