Michigan-based global motorcar manufacture Chrysler has appointed Marjorie Loeb as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Ms Loeb replaces Holly Leese, who has announced her intention to retire from the company after 33 years, says the multinational. Ms Loeb – whose promotion is effective immediately and who previously worked for Delphi Automotive Systems and Michigan law firm Miro Weiner & Kramer -- joined Chrysler in 2010 as an assistant general counsel.
Ottowa health science company Nordion has announced the election of Grant Gardiner as its senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. From 18 March, Mr Gardiner will serve as the company's legal officer, with responsibility for all global legal matters, reports the Pharmiweb web site. Mr Gardiner most recently served on the board at Canadian BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion.
Kristy Berner has been promoted to senior vice president and general counsel at New York-based banking corporation First Niagara Financial Group. Ms Berner has served as the bank’s assistant general counsel since 2010, focussing on recent acquisitions and capital markets work while also taking responsibility for day-to-day legal services to the company. Before joining First Niagara, Ms Berner was in the corporate and securities practice group of New York law firm of Hodgson Russ.
