Kyle Guse has joined Seattle-based healthcare company Atossa Genetics as chief financial officer, general counsel and secretary. The 49-year-old has more than 20 years’ experience advising companies on public offerings, private financing, mergers and acquisitions, commercialisation transactions and other corporate matters, reports the Market Watch website.
Former Baker Botts Silicon Valley partner Mr Guse joins the company – which is focused on the development and marketing of novel cellular and molecular diagnostic risk assessment products for breast cancer – after completing more than 100 financings and other transactions totalling some $1 billion.
Covington & Burling counsel Allison Lurton is to join the Futures Industry Association as senior vice president and deputy general counsel later this month. Ms Lurton will advise the derivatives sector membership body on regulatory matters and develop policies as part of the association's senior management. She will report to Barbara Wierzynski, the association’s general counsel, reports the Automated Trader website.
UK financial services provider AES International has appointed James McLeod to its board as general counsel, responsible for corporate governance and risk management.The International Advisor website reports that the firm -- which has offices across Europe and the Middle East – has given Mr McLeod the role to oversee all regulatory, administrative and legal matters within all the jurisdictions in which it operates.
Mr McLeod qualified as an English solicitor in 2003 and has done stints at Britain’s Ministry of Defence, and London-based international law firms SJ Berwin and Herbert Smith as well as the London office of US law firm Squire Sanders.
