Leading New York-based financial firm JP Morgan has shuffled its global legal team following a merger of its investment bank and treasury and securities services.
Firmwide general counsel Steve Cutler made the announcement in an internal memo in August, prior to the appointment of ex-Sullivan & Cromwell litigation and regulatory partner Stacey Friedman as GC of the newly formed corporate and investment bank division, reports Legal Week.
Also at JP Morgan, London-based Karen Linney has been given on an expanded EMEA role in the corporate & investment bank division, while New York-based Diane has been named global GC for markets & investor services and GC for JP Morgan's chief investment office.
Elsewhere, The Lawyer reports that Legal process outsourcer CPA Global has named former Ancestry.com lawyer Ruth Daniels as its first-ever general counsel.
Ms Daniels, who began her legal career with Anglo-US outfit DLA Piper - spent five years as vice-president of legal international and vice-president of legal China at the genealogy web site.
Leah Cooper, CPA's director of legal services outsourcing, left the company last month.
Finally, Geoffrey Connor has joined sustainable housing provider GreenWorld Restoration as general counsel.
Mr Connor was Texas Secretary of State between 2003 and 2005, and previously served as Deputy Secretary of State, Assistant Commissioner of Agriculture, general counsel of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and as a senior aide to former Governor William Clements, reports Market Watch.
Mr Connor has also worked for law firms Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, and Jackson Walker.
