Shakespeare company appoints a new GC Jane Rix

A lawyer from the worlds of tobacco and risk management is taking on the job of General Counsel at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Marina Zain has been interim GC for the last six months, following a transfer over from the insurance sector where she had been legal director at Commercial Edge. She had previously spent three years with British American Tobacco. Ms Zain will be assisted by one associate, according to The Lawyer, in servicing the 1,000-strong company with its mixture of commercial contract, charity, litigation and IP work. 

Jeanne Cezanne Collins has been announced as the new GC at the Office for Legal and Legislative Affairs in El Paso. A partner at law firm Kemp Smith, she had previously worked in the County Attorney's Office and at the El Paso Legal Assistance Society, according to El Paso Inc

Dignity Health's new GC and executive vice president has been named as Rick Grossman, the present interim GC who has been at Dignity since the spring, according to SFGate

Maurice Edelson is becoming deputy GC and senior vice president at Time Warner. He became as a GC at the media company in 2007 and was also appointed as vice president in 2008. His role now will include special projects, including work on the legal and structural division of Time Inc and Time Warner. He will report to Paul Cappuccio, executive vice president and GC, according to Compliance Week.
