Bumper year predicted for Irish firms as transactions soar

Inversion work from US companies and a six-fold rise in transactions is giving some of the leading Irish firms an outstanding year.

Deal volumes have risen nearly six-fold in H1 of 2014. And nearly half of all US businesses taking the inversion route by relocating their head offices are heading for Ireland. 

New toy

Adam Rosenzweig, professor at the Washington University School of Law in St Louis, said: ‘Potentially, what's happening here is that there's a new toy out there and everyone wants a piece of it.’ Dublin-based A&L Goodbody has seen its deal volumes triple in 2014, compared to 2013. Arthur Cox has advised on transactions worth €78b in 2014, compared to €23b for the same period in 2013. Source: Irish Independent
