Californian five year olds to learn copyright law

An anti-piracy set of classes is to be piloted in Californian schools, reaching children as young as five in their kindergartens.

The new part of the curriculum is being sponsored by the Centre for Copyright Information (CCI). CCI was formed by the Motion Picture Association of America and other bodies. The copyright section is part of a broader subject which will also include safety online and creativity. 

No-brainer

Lawrence Iser, an IP lawyer at Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump & Aldisert told The Financial Times: 'This is a no-brainer. I can’t conceive of who would oppose teaching kids a fundamental aspect of the US constitution, which is copyright.'
