The Robert Half Legal 2014 Salary Guide is predicting average remuneration increases of 2.4 per cent, rising to 3.3 per cent for lawyers, law clerks and legal assistants starting in new positions in law practices. Looking at the predicted pay rates from an experience perspective, those who are a decade beyond qualification in firms with between ten and 35 lawyers are likely to see the biggest gain, 4.3 per cent. This will mean they earn between Can $128,500 and $185,000, according to The Financial Post.
