Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
Aysh Chaudhry - according to his LinkedIn account - has a First Class degree. He appeared in the vido which was posted on YouTube on an account called 'Call of Dawah'. Mr Chaudhry repeatedly uses the word 'kuffar' which is a derogatory term for people who are not Muslim. He says he was moved to speak by 'events in Paris that have taken place over the last few days' and calls on his 'brothers and sisters' not to adopt an 'apologetic tone' but to 'have confidence'. He urges his listeners not to 'succumb to these corrupt values that the kuffar are trying to impose on us'.
Inclusive culture
Clifford Chance said his comments were 'personal and not those of Clifford Chance'. It added: 'The firm is committed to establishing an inclusive culture where people with diverse backgrounds and views work effectively together and feel confident to develop their potential. We ask our people to at all times consider how their personal conduct and actions may affect those around them, their professional reputation and that of the firm.'
Deplorable
But Sam Westrop of interfaith group Stand for Peace said: 'That Clifford Chance is prepared to dismiss such comments as a mere etiquette problem is deplorable. If Clifford Chance is truly devoted, as it claims, to 'establishing an inclusive culture’, then it would not tolerate such exclusively divisive and unpleasant views.' Source: Daily Telegraph
