The survey of 257 lawyers and non-lawyers in law practices across Australia showed that the biggest challenges facing them are economic pressures and then an inability to meet the cost expectations of clients. The third challenge is seen as a lack of appreciation about the need to invest in IT.

Nicholas Dunford, sales manager for Aderant in the Asia Pacific, said: ‘Technology used to be an enabler – it used to help you do your work – and it still does that now but it’s also a disruptor.
