Culture beats money for partners switching law firms

In its 2013 Lateral Partner Satisfaction Survey, Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA) found that lateral partners are generally satisfied with their move and don't regret it.

Out of 1,150 survey participants, four in five said they would still move to their current firm if they had it to do all over again, and only 3.1 per cent said they would have rather stayed at their old firm. Lateral partners ranked firm culture as the top reason for switching firms and anticipated compensation as the sixth.  Survey co-author Jeffrey A Lowe said: 'We see that firm culture is the single most important consideration for lateral partners in choosing a new firm…Despite what many people think, it isn’t ‘all about the money.’
