The reintegration program, dubbed ‘Davis Polk Revisted,’ will invite women who have previously worked at the firm for a period longer than three years but have been absent from the firm for at least the last two to reapply for associate level positions. Successful applicants to the year-long program will be paid a salary of $190,000 and offered training and mentorship from Davis Polk partners. Once the program is complete, participants may be offered permanent associate positions at a level appropriate to their experience. By offering women a pathway back into the firm, managing partner Thomas Reid hopes to improve the firm’s gender diversity profile. ‘It’s very hard to find that way back in. That is what is program is designed to do – to make that way back in easy,’ he said. Women currently account for around 17 per cent of Davis Polk’s equity partnership.
