Duane Morris has boosted its New York health law practice with the hire of Ari Markenson who has joined the firm’s Health Law Practice Group as a partner in its New York office. Mr Markenson joins from Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP. His appointment bolsters the firm’s national health law practice group, particularly in the area of healthcare M&A, regulatory work and private equity. Markenson previously served as deputy general counsel at Cypress Health Care Management LLC in White Plains, New York, a privately held, post-acute care and senior housing healthcare company with nursing home, assisted living, rehabilitation therapy, durable medical equipment, hospice, pharmacy and group purchasing business operations in 10 states.

He is active in the American Health Lawyers Association and served as a past vice chair of its Long-Term Care, Senior Housing, In-Home Care and Rehabilitation Practice Group. He is a member of both the legal committee of the American Health Care Association and the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Health Law Section and serves on the editorial advisory board of the Long-Term Survey Alert.
