DWF lets fee-earners buy cabins to enable home working

DWF has introduced a series of IT efficiencies including a project through which fee-earners can buy a £6,500 'cabin' for home working.

DWF is working towards the paperless office Lisa S.

The cabin is financed by deductions from pay over three years. This 'plug and play' office stays the property of the fee-earner even if they leave DWF. Moving into a new higher tech location in London’s Walkie Talkie building, the firm believes it has achieved a global first by entering into a partnership with Canon which converts physical mail into in-box material within two hours each morning.

Investment return

Karl Warmbold, DWF’s facilities director, said: ‘For us, this is core to our strategy and our plan to migrate across to a paper-light environment. We’ll get a return on our investment within two years and after that cost-savings of £1m to £2m will start to kick in.’ Source: The Lawyer
