A Santa Monica judge, Philip Gutierrez, said, according to the Courthouse News Service, that 'he imposed the lengthy sentence because Tamman lied to the SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission] and lied again at his trial last year.' He was convicted on 10 counts at his trial in 2010, including altering records and being an accessory after the fact to crimes committed by a client. The client, John Farahi, was sentenced to ten years in prison earlier this year.
