Henry Dahut, lawyer, author and consultant on legal brands, makes this analysis, saying: ‘The sudden decline and ultimate demise of such law firms is attributable not only to a crisis in market conditions, but also to a crisis in their own identity, values and leadership.’ He continues: ‘When economic times turn bad, sometimes even the most profitable of firms, quickly devolve into a culture of fear and greed, which often marks the beginning of the end.’

Dysfunctional

The challenge for firms is to create a lasting brand, one which is ‘an authentic and inspired expression of the firm’s true values, culture and capabilities’. Unless this happens, there is a danger that ‘the firm will grow into a dysfunctional organisation’, one with a ‘profound disassociation with reality’. Source: Digital Journal
