Fieldfisher has posted a 10 per cent increase in revenue to £64.1 for the first half of this financial year. At the same point last year, the firm reported an 8 per cent rise in turnover to £58.4m. According to managing partner Michael Chissick, the firm’s strong half-year showing is attributable to solid performances across the firm’s dispute resolution, intellectual property and technology practices. He also added that the firm’s outposts in Paris and Brussels have performed ‘particularly well’. He said: ‘While until we finish the year we don’t know exactly how it will end, we are pleased with our result given the challenges of the last six months, like Brexit.’
Merger spree
Fieldfisher has locked in three tie-up agreements over the last six months, none of which are reflected in the firm’s half-year figures. Last month, the firm announced it would be opening its doors in Birmingham via a merger with local firm Hill Hofstetter. Swiss verein merger deals have also been announced with Beijing’s JS Partners and Milan’s Studio Associato Servizi Professionali Integrati (SASPI).
