Flow of energy lawyers continues from Hogan Lovells

Corporate energy partner David Levin, described as 'the engine' of the firm's natural resources practice by the Legal 500, is the latest top lawyer to leave.

Nekton Global has recently acquired a 50 per cent stake in Rise Capital AB, which purses infrastructure investments in Russia Chromatika Multimedia snc

He is to become general counsel at the energy merchant Nekton Group. He leaves in the wake of a three-lawyer group that went to Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and included a global co-head of energy and natural resources, Matthew Williams.

Fantastic relationship

Mr Levin joined Hogan Lovells following a four-year stint as Eversheds' Russia chief. His clients have included Centrica, Citigroup, Cargill and Statoil. A Hogan Lovells spokesperson said: 'David had a fantastic relationship with Nekton and this was a natural move for him.
