The 274-year-old firm has signed a pre-let agreement taking on a 20-year lease from 2021 – with the built-in flexibility to vary the level of space before its move-in date.
Reduction in square footage
And, like the trend being seen in law firms requiring less square footage as a result of automation, the firm has secured 255,000 square foot – about one third less than its current offices which between its Fleet Street base and nearby Tudor Street offices totals more than 370,000 square foot.
The firm will initially take on 12 floors of the 37-storey building, scheduled for completion in 2018.
Committed to London
London managing partner Julian Long said: 'We have taken a long-term lease at 100 Bishopsgate, underlining our commitment to our successful London office.'
