The 17 who have been promoted join the partnership on 1 May. There is a dramatic contrast between East and West - with just one lawyer being made up in the US (Olivia Radin in the New York litigation team) compared to four in Hong Kong and three split between Tokyo and Singapore. There are three in London and another six in other parts of Europe (including two in Germany and one in Vienna).
Litigation
By practice area, litigation is the most popular area - with five full-time specialists and a sixth (Akiko Yamakawa of Tokyo) who specialises in litigation in employment and pensions. The next most favoured areas are corporate and finance (with four new partners each). Source: Freshfields
