Freshfields to cut rent costs by 50pc through Manchester services hub

Freshfields is planning to shift the majority of its support service function out of London and into a new admin hub in a move that is expected to begin in early 2016.

Introducing this new platform would further strengthen our position as the leading truly integrated international law firm.' 

Trend

The firm is following a trend among the larger pratices. Latham & Watkins plans to open a similar function in Manchester by mid-summer. Hogan Lovells and Allen & Overy have set up bases elsewhere. In the past, such moves tended to be made to cut costs; now the purpose is more likely to be efficiency. Source: Legal Business
