The firm lost a long-running legal case at the end of last year when it was ordered to pay costs and interest to home loans businessman John Symons as well as nearly A$5m in damages. The three partners are Damian O'Connor (tax), Edwina Rodd (energy and resources) and Phil Pennington (property). The majority of the other people are paralegals in the financial services recovery group. 

Changing needs

A spokesperson said that no other redundancies were planned, saying: 'The decision to restructure our workforce will help position the firm to meet the changing needs of our clients during a transforming domestic economy.' Source: Lawyers Weekly
