Hogan Lovells set to close Mongolia operation

The law firm will continue to work with the local partnership which is setting up a new practice.

Hogan Lovells is closing its Mongolian office, the latest move to reshape the business following a strategic review. The office, which has 15 staff, will close at the end of November. Local  managing partner Chris Melville is planning to launch a new firm in Ulaanbaatar with colleagues from the firm which will work with Hogan Lovells going forward. The office was set up in 2010 through an alliacne with local law firm GT Advocates. Other firms with a presence in the country include Shearman & Sterlng, Clyde & Co and DLA Piper.

Staff cutbacks

It is the latest move from Hogan Lovells to reshape its business - with voluntary redundancy packages on offer in London and New York for legal secretaries.
