HSF opens two German offices
Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has beefed up its European presence with the announcement of two office openings in Germany today.
The offices, in Frankfurt and Berlin, will operate as Herbert Smith Freehills Germany.
According to a statement by the firm, the move to capitalise on Europe's largest and strongest economy will greatly enhance the firm's delivery of origin-to-destination legal services across a single global platform for its clients.
Senior partner Jonathan Scott commented: ‘It is an important milestone for the firm and the latest step in our plans to develop our global presence. Our enhanced global platform will also benefit German businesses with whom we can work on cross-border initiatives.’
Patrick Mitchell, partner and co-global head of Herbert Smith Freehills Corporate added: ‘Over time, our Frankfurt office will be a full-service offering, with our presence in Berlin focusing on corporate and regulatory work. Our recruitment efforts are continuing and we hope to be able to announce the appointment of additional partners in the coming months.’
