London law firm Eversheds has appointed a new managing partner in its Vienna office following the election of Georg Röhsner.
Mr Röhsner served as the head of IT at the office but was appointed to the new position after receiving a unanimous mandate from partners, reports Top Legal.
Mr Röhsner replaces Alexander Stolitzka who returns to fee earning as head of the Vienna office's real estate and retail team following his two year term as managing partner.
German law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek is set to add four new partners at its Düsseldorf and Frankfurt offices.
Michael Alberts, Peter Zimmermann and Peter Vocke will join as equity partners in Düsseldorf while Christoph Wetzler will join as equity partner at Heuking's Frankfurt office.
In total, nine lawyers from San Francsico firm Orrick will move to Heuking. The three partners in Düsseldorf will be joined by four associates. Mr Wetzler will start working with an associate in Frankfurt.
According to a statement from the firm, the team covers the entire range of large real estate projects from transaction to development to financing, both for national and particularly for international clients.
Bird & Bird has snapped up Jörg Paura as a partner for its International Corporate Group.
Mr Paura will join the Hamburg office on 1 April, moving from Anglo-US law firm Hogan Lovells. Daniel Weiss and Mirjam Rüve will join him at the new firm.
Specialising in corporate law, M&A, corporate finance, restructuring and insolvency, Mr Paura brings extensive expertise in the field of compliance, particularly in advising supervisory boards. His prime focus is on the steel, automotive and media sectors. He had previously worked at Hogan Lovells for 25 years, becoming a partner in 1997.

Osborne Clarke has appointed John Buyers – formally head of Stephenson Harwood’s commercial, outsourcing and technology group – as a partner in its London digital business team.
Mr Buyers teams will team up with former Stephenson Harwood colleague, John Pike who arrived at Osborne Clarke last week from Scottish firm Dundas & Wilson.

Evan Cohen has been elected as the Americas regional managing partner of London-based law firm Clifford Chance.
The magic circle firm appointed Mr Cohen - who has led the Americas Banking & Finance practice since 2005 – to a four-year term which will commence on 1 May.
Serving regional managing partner Craig Medwick will return to the corporate practice following the completion of his second and final term on 30 April.

Herbert Smith Freehills has recruited finance expert Rod Howell, most recently the head of Allens Arthur Robinson’s Asian finance team, as a partner in the recently merged firm’s Singapore-based banking and finance practice.
Asian Legal Business reports that Mr Howell is expected to leverage his existing network and experience to grow his new practice at the firm and provide clients with specialist financing expertise.
He was previously a partner with magic circle firm Clifford Chance, where he led the regional asset finance practice.
Texas law firm Fulbright & Jaworski – which is set to merge with Norton Rose in June - has promoted arbitration specialist James Rogers to partner in Hong Kong.
ALB reports that arbitration specialist Mr Rogers joined the firm’s London office in 2008 and relocated to Hong Kong in 2011. He was previously with the London and Tokyo offices of Herbert Smith (now Herbert Smith Freehills).
