The Supreme Court is expected to decide on whether foreign law firms can fly in and fly out in order to give advice to their clients on a temporary basis on foreign law. Eleven law firms have made submissions to the case. These are Ashurst, Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Linklaters, Eversheds, Clyde & Co, Bird & Bird, White & Case, Covington & Burlington, Herbert Smith, Norton Rose and Integreon.

Other firms have been deleted from the case. They include Freshfields, Shearman & Sterling, Davis Polk, Akin Gump and Mayer Brown. In November the Society of Indian Law Firms decided not to oppose the entry of foreign law firms into the country. Source: Bar and Bench
