Interest grows in US litigation finance

A survey of over 400 lawyers, in-house lawyers and financial executives, carried out by Burford Capital LLC, has shown potential interest in the issue. In litigation finance, third party investors will finance a case in return for getting a share of the proceeds if the case is won. Financial executives believe that demand for this approach is growing. However, only seven per cent of lawyers have actually used the approach. Source: Wall Street Journal
