IP firm plans high security building to protect client data

The law firm which acts for Garmin, the global GPS specialist, is planning to move into new premises next year which will use biometric security and other techniques to give added protection to client data.

Omaha-based Advent is hoping to move into the new building in January 2016. Biometric security, based on scanning eyes or finger tips, will be used as a barrier to access to unauthorised personnel in some areas. The practice is also looking at the possibility of using a type of glass which fogs up if a confidential meeting is being held behind it. Other mechanisms are said to be under consideration but are being kept secret for the moment. Source: ABA
