In the letter, the anonymous job seeker explains that they attached the sweets to ensure their application landed safely on the desk of Mary-Anne Anderson, the firm’s head of marketing.
The move clearly appealed to Ms Anderson, who posted an image of the letter and sweets on her LinkedIn page. The post – which has since received almost 3,000 likes – praised the job seeker’s resourcefulness, with her commenting: ‘This is how to send your CV in and get it noticed. High fives to knowing who the gatekeepers are and getting this onto my desk. And now for the interview…’
The flurry of comments on the post show a mixed response, with one saying this ‘could be considered a bride’ and another that the job seeker hadn’t ‘bothered to research’ the firm properly, so sent bags of sweets instead.
Ms Anderson confirmed on Twitter that there while there wasn’t an ‘opening’ at the firm, a meeting with the job seeker would take place later this week.
