Reports have surfaced that KWM global litigation head Craig Pollack is considering leaving the embattled firm behind in favour of a position a US firm Covington & Burling’s London office. Mr Pollack is a KWM stalwart, having joined legacy firm SJ Berwin in the early 1990s and later becoming head of the global litigation and disputes resolution team upon the firm’s merger with KWM in 2014. He is also one of the biggest billers in the firm’s London office, with a practice that focuses on advice to investment banks, hedge funds, public companies and high net worth individuals.
Following former colleagues
If Mr Pollack makes the switch to Covington he will be following in the footsteps of former KWM colleagues Greg Lascelles, who was a partner in the KWM disputes team before joining Covington in September, and former KWM London litigation head Alex Leitch, who joined the US firm early last year. KWM Europe has been hemorrhaging partners in recent weeks following a stalled recapitalisation effort and an ultimately unsuccessful debt bailout offer from the verein’s Asia arm.
