KWM to focus on energy and funds in Singapore office

King & Wood Mallesons has announced that three partners will lead its new Singapore office for which it was given a foreign law practice licence in February.

The Singapore office, the firm's 15th in Asia, will start by concentrating on international funds, energy and China work. John Sullivan, real estate specialist from Australia, is relocating to the island. Fellow Australian lawyer Michael Lawson specialises in energy, including liquified natural gas, and has already taken up his post in Singapore. The third partner in the new base will be M&A partner Huang Xuhua who is relocating from Hong Kong.
