Linklaters posts flat retention rate

London law firm Linklaters became the latest magic circle firm to reveal its March retention rates yesterday, announcing a rate of 83 per cent.

Retention rates stay flat at magic circle firm

The firm offered 52 of its 59 trainees newly qualified (NQ) positions, with 49 accepting the offer, reports The Lawyer.
This time last year, the firm posted a rate of 86 per cent when it kept 49 of 57 trainees. In August, the firm retained 51 trainees at a rate of 78 per cent.

Elsewhere, magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer posted an 85 per cent retention rate as 39 of 46 trainees remained with the firm.
Allen & Overy took a hit on their rates as they slipped to 70 per cent. The firm offered 38 places to 53 of its trainees.
Clifford Chance is yet to announce its rates.
