London-based Ms Comiskey, who lost out to frontrunner Charlie Jacobs for the SP post in a partnership vote in May, succeeds Matthew Middleditch as global corporate head.
FTSE 100 clients
Ms Comiskey sat on the firm's partnership election committee for four years and had a three-year stint as co-head of Linklaters' retail sector group. She is the lead relationship partner for a number of the firm’s FTSE100 and FTSE250 clients and has done a number of high-profile M&A deals in the Latin America market. She is also a non-executive director at FTSE oil and gas company James Fisher and Sons.
Global corporate chairman
Hong Kong-based Mr Middleditch has been a partner at Linklaters since 1990 and has been handed the newly created post of global corporate chairman, which will allow him to take a more ambassadorial role.
Both will begin their new position on 1 September 2016.
