Accounts lodges with Companies House reveal that the total amount paid to Freshfields’ management group – comprising of the firm’s managing partners, senior partner and global practice group heads –  rose 8 per cent from £16.8m to £18.1m in the 12 months to 30 April 2016. The larger take-homes came despite a near 25 per cent drop in profit available for division among equity partners from £514m to £393.1m. Though revenue inched up 0.5 per cent to £1.285bn, the near-static growth was considerably down on the 7 per cent turnover boost recorded by the firm in 2014/15.
