Mayer Brown trials agile working in London

Mayer Brown is piloting agile working in its construction practice, with management set to report on the results to the partnership in July.

Although an increasing number of firms have moved toward agile working in the past decade, take-up at US practices in London has been notably low.

Should the trial at Mayer Brown go well, it could be one of the first American firms in the City to adopt the agile working. Its London construction practice has around 32 lawyers, though a wider push toward agile working would see the firm’s 225 UK lawyers (including 87 partners) adopt the new system.

The number of City giants embracing agile working has snowballed recently, with Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Herbert Smith Freehills having made it available to partners last year. The move saw them join Mishcon de Reya, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, Foot Anstey and DAC Beachcroft. Olswang has also recently completed an agile working pilot and will move over to the system next year. Source: The Lawyer
