Minter Ellison promotes 13 partners in record-making round

The Australia-based international firm has lifted 13 new lawyers into its partnership.

In addition to promoting the 13 new partners, Minter Ellison has named 37 new senior associates and 21 special counsel, bringing its total senior promotion headcount to 71. Counted together, the promotion pool is 40 per cent larger than in 2015. For Minter Ellison chief executive Tony Harrington, that more than half of the new senior appointments are women is a particular point of pride: ‘Every year since 2013 we have increased the number of women promoted into senior roles and I’m pleased that this year almost 60 per cent of our senior appointments are women,’ he said.

New partners

Most of Minter Ellison’s new partners come from the firm’s core strategic practices of Regulatory Assurance & Response, Banking, Transactions, Dispute Resolution, Real Estate, Insurance, Government and Construction/Infrastructure. The group is comprised of five women and eight men. They are:
