Mr Napoli and Marc Bern, fellow partner in the firm, have been involved in litigation with each other in the Manhattan Supreme Court about allegations of misused funds and affairs by Mr Napoli. The firm is now being overseen by a receiver. Manhattan judge Eileen Bransten has now ordered Mr Napoli to repay money which the receiver of the firm says he took without permission.

Company jet

Judge Bransten said: 'I am ordering that every last piece of furniture, every last pencil, pen, rubber stamp, computer, telephone, chair, curtains … everything be returned to the Fifth Avenue office that was taken out.' The receiver said that Mr Napoli had used the company's jet for 'personal non-business reasons at a cost to Napoli Bern in the amount of $25,682.58'. Mr Napoli has five days to prove that a further sum of $100,000 was taken legitimately.
