The newly-revealed cache of works runs to 60 pieces, including works by Picasso and Renoir. Lawyer Christopher Edel was appointed to act as Mr Gurlitt's guardian by the German courts in 2013. Mr Edel has visited the Salzburg house where the second set of paintings have been kept. He visited the house with Mr Gurlitt's lawyer, Hannes Hartung, in order to secure the works and to supervise their removal for inspection by the authorities. A spokesman for Mr Gurlitt said: 'At first glance, there is no suspicion that these were looted art.' Mr Gurlitt has himself requested that the paintings be checked in order to ascertain if there are any Nazi links. Source: The Financial Times
