New faces at MoJ following reshuffle

A new team of justice ministers will start work today after the ministerial reshuffle by Theresa May that saw Liz Truss named Lord Chancellor.

Casualties include former Minister of State for Justice Lord Faulks QC, who resigned, and Dominic Raab, a close ally of Ms Truss's predecessor Michael Gove. He returns to the back benches.

Minister of State

Barrister and former Solicitor General Sir Oliver Heald MP returns to the government as Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice, while Sam Gyimah MP and Dr Philip Lee MP have been named as Parliamentary Under Secretaries. Mr Gyimah, a former investment banker, served as Chief Whip and Education Minister under David Cameron. Mr Lee is a GP and a former member of the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee.

Ms Truss tweeted that she was delighted that the three 'reform-minded colleagues' would be joining her.
