An investigation into such an approach to a legal practice came to the conclusion that the calls might be a scam. The calls came from someone who called herself Anne Brown and said she represented Snowden Executive Search. The Law Society is warning that divulging personal details could lead to the infiltration of computer networks and the theft of money.

The Law Society said: ‘The name 'Anne Brown' is among a number used in a scam where people are offered the possibility of employment in a foreign location and are then asked to complete an "online screening" process, including a credit check. The information divulged for this can then be used for criminal purposes.’ Source: New Zealand Herald
