Washington eLawyer, owned by lawyer Sharon Blackford of Seattle, says it is ‘the first law firm in our state focusing solely on providing personal legal advice and documents online at flat fees at a cost the average person can afford’. The firm handles both contested and uncontested cases, with prices starting at US$250. Between 46 and 95%, depending on the county, of Washington State litigants in family court cases do not have a lawyer in court.

Ms Blackford said: ‘For many years I watched people’s cases fall apart in court just because they couldn’t afford a lawyer. I eventually realised I was part of a system that had completely collapsed. So I decided to create a new online firm that people can afford in the 21st century.’ Source: PR Web
