While the area has been promised new, separate court buildings for criminal and civil cases, interim measures have meant that the criminal cases are being moved to the district collector's complex for the time being. The Surat District Bar Association is unhappy with the plan and has requested a rethink. Lawyer Kalpesh Desai said: 'There are absolutely no facilities for the lawyers to sit there.
